One World Trust Session: Governance – The Heart of the Climate Crisis

  • The Venue @ Strathclyde Student Union 51 Richmond Street Glasgow, Scotland, G1 United Kingdom (map)

The current approach to governing the global commons isn’t working. An assembly of 200 competing nations, each negotiating to defend their national self-interest, is a recipe for delivering lowest common denominator compromises that are far from optimal for the world as a whole. This is holding back the Paris Climate Agreement - and carbon emissions continue to rise. How can we move from defending national interests towards serving the common interest of humanity?
