Great Recovery Dialogue

  • The Mandela Lecture Theatre @ Strathclyde University 51 Richmond Street Glasgow, Scotland, G1 United Kingdom (map)

In early 2021 a number of civil society groups came together to set out a collective vision for change, rooted in the lived experiences of millions of people at the frontlines of the struggle for climate and social justice. These collective demands were presented to the leaders of the G7 at their Summit in Cornwall in June and they are now being brought to COP26 to demand a more just and sustainable future for all.

You can see the full list of demands here: https://greatrecovery.net/

As part of the Climate Action Lab considering next steps beyond the pandemic, there will be two dialogue sessions to connect activists and decision-makers to identify transformative steps to deliver a future that is healthy, green & just.

AM: 0900-1230: Future of Activism

If you're not in Glasgow, you can join via zoom: register here

In the first Great Recovery session, the focus will be on connecting diverse voices of activists from different parts of the globe to share their views on community mobilising for transformative change. Ensuring that the voices of those who are most affected by the current crises of the pandemic, climate and social injustices are at the heart of the recovery.

PM: 1400-1730: Bridging climate & social justice

If you're not in Glasgow, you can join via zoom: register here

The second Great Recovery session will consider practical steps to take forward the recommendations for a healthy, green and just recovery. How can we connect across movements and hold policy makers to account for the steps needed for transformative change?
